History of Domino’s Pizza

A small, flat rectangular block used as a gaming object, domino (also called bones, men, pieces, or tiles) are normally twice as long as they are wide. Each side of the domino features one or more dots, or pips, that indicate value; for example, a tile with six pips indicates that it is higher in rank than a tile with fewer or no pips. The most common domino set contains 28 tiles, but larger sets exist. Dominos are used for positional games, where players place tiles edge to edge so that adjacent faces match or form a specified total.

Dominoes are played all over the world and are a favorite pastime of many children. A game of dominoes can be a great way for parents to teach their kids basic math skills by using the number of pips on a particular tile to calculate its value.

The earliest written record of dominoes dates back to the 12th or 13th century in China, where they were functionally identical to playing cards. The game moved to Italy and France in the 18th Century and became a fad, with domino puzzles also becoming popular. By the late 18th Century, dominoes were being played in English inns and taverns and probably came to Britain via French prisoners of war.

In the early 19th Century, Domino’s founder Dominick Lavorato introduced a new game to America that used a specially molded clay tile with a picture or word on one face and numbers or letters on the other. The dominoes were more portable than previous tile games and thus a greater hit. The game gained popularity throughout the world and soon was being played by people in all walks of life.

As the domino company grew, it adopted many policies to ensure that employees were well taken care of. One of those policies was to always listen to the concerns of the workers and make changes where needed. This helped Domino’s to be a top workplace for years to come.

Another one of their core values is “Champion Our Customers.” This is why they listen to the feedback from their customers and take it seriously. For example, if a customer is unhappy with their order or delivery time, Domino’s will work with them to resolve the issue.

Domino’s is always working to improve their business and this includes their online ordering process. This has been a great benefit to the company and has helped them grow even more in the past few years.

Domino’s continues to grow and develop in various ways, including their use of robotics. They have been experimenting with drones, which could help speed up their delivery process. This is a good example of how they are trying to innovate and stay competitive in the pizza market. Their goal is to have 25,000 global locations by 2025, and this seems to be very possible!
